Kristian Husted (b. 1976) is a Danish writer and performing artist with an interest in social structures, history, stories and unforseen encounters. He is the author of a series of documentary theatre performances on, among other things, the economy, financial crisis, artificial intelligence and the common past of Africa and Europe.

In 2018, he made his debut as an author with the book ‘Vahid’, which tells the story of the author’s journey through Europe and into the Danish asylum system under the guise of being an Iranian writer on the run. On the journey, he met the young Ukrainian man Ivan, who is the main character in Kristian Husted’s second book, ‘Ivan’ (2025).

Kristian holds a master’s degree in literary studies from the University of Copenhagen and Université de Paris IV. He has also studied acting at the École Jacques Lecoq and Le Samovar in Paris. He has been a theatre critic for Dagbladet Politiken and is a permanent member of the performing arts collective Det Algoritmiske Teater.
